Hi Sam,
sorry I didn't get back to you any sooner. I saw that Mary already replied to your question in great detail and I agree with what she is saying. And.....he had A LOT of changes recently.... New cage, new house, new person living in the house. Your little guy is definitely stressed out. I would try and involve him as much as possible in your daily activities, take him out of his room and into the living room as you and your fiancee watch TV etc. Show him that he's still part of the family. Does your fiancee interact with him at all? Anf how did she get along with the bird previously? I raised my male at the pet store where I work, and as I fell in love with him, I took him home with me. He was well socialized, stepped up on command to anybody's hand, never bit anyone. But when I took him home, he kept on growling and attacking my fiancee for weeks, but still being friendly to me and strangers. I am convinced that he realized that since my fiancee lives with me, that he's more of a competition than any of my friends that occasionally stop by. It took some work, and a lot of nutra berries, but it paid of. I think he realized that he can be loved by two people simultaneously, and now he's both of our pet. He grooms his beard and cuddles with me. They are smart little creatures and sensitive to change. Don't give up on him. Be patient and I'm sure your little guy will recover from whatever he's going through at the moment.
Let me know how it's going!
Nicole
