I can't think of any of my birds, past or present, that would get in a tub. They fear it's too deep and slippery.
Instead, just leave a shallow bowl of water in or on top of his cage. I throw in some plastic toys and my SI, Scarlet, fishes them out.
Sometimes, when I'm at the kitchen sink she will waddle on over and want me to spray her with the hand faucet sprayer.
Also, you can simply mist your bird with one of those spray bottles. They don't have to get soaked to enjoy the benefits of a bath. Just use fresh warm water, as mentioned before. Good luck, Angie & Scarl'y
