Hi!
There is an excellent internet group run by a very knowledgeable person that you might wish to join. The membership is free. It is called loryworld at www.egroups.com. I believe all you have to do is to go to www.egroups.com, join egroups, then join loryworld (loryworld is one of many lists within egroups. Once you are an egroups member, you can join any of their lists).
Loryworld is a discussion group all about lories and lorikeets. It welcomes anyone interested in lories - from novices to experts.
Have you taken the bird to an avian vet? Cat bites are very dangerous to parrots - not just because the cat has sharp teeth, but because the cat has a bacteria in its mouth that is very dangerous to parrots. If you have not taken the bird to an avian vet, please do so right away before you do anything else. If the bird did get the bacteria from the cat, the bird may settle down some after a few days of the proper medication (and it begins to feel better).
Next, is the bird actually wild, or is it acting wild (what area do you live in?) Do you know how old the bird is? This information will help me to provide you with some techniques that may help you to either tame or calm the parrot.
Definitely, the bird will not survive in the wild with only one wing. I am glad you rescued him!
Look forward to the additional information!
