Meet our first unique eclectus. He is a young Solomon Island male named *Newt* (Neutronomous). Newt will celebrate his first hatchday on November 15, 2000. Garrett Smith, his faithful EclectuSlave, says, "Newt has red feathers covering the top of his head. This misplaced splash of red goes from one eye across to the other and reaches to the start of his beak. He has red splotches on his chest and back. The blue female collar is slightly visible, and he has slight turquoise around the eye rings. The flash of the camera washed out alot of the subtle colors, especially the red on his head, and the blue collar, the colors look a lot more filled out in person. Newt is 'just your average little freak of nature'. He loves to run laps on the back of the couch dragging his beak. His favorite thing to do is to climb the support beam in the shower all the way to the ceiling, then slide back down and repeat the process while saying "Hey!... Hello?.... Hey!!!" over and over until I answer "What?" Then he'll reply, "Hello!!" and make this clicking sound and start all over. It drives me nuts (but I can't help laughing.)
