Owner Lori Lynn says, "I bought Sydney, a Solomon Island eclectus, from Susie Christian in Sept 2000. Susie explained to me that Sydney came from a large scale breeder with many pairs of Eclectus. He feeds his Eclectus breeder pairs pellets in their diet and occasionally the yellow/orange feather coloration occurs with the hens. This will be replaced with the normal red feathers during her first moult. Susie took possession of Sydney to hand feed and wean when she was approximately five weeks old and she was already blonde colored at that time. I have had Sydney for two months now and I can already see a change in her coloring. She has a lot more red around her neck and on the back of her head than she used to. Her mate, Hunter, also has oddly colored feathers underneath his wings."
